REBEL 3199 Chapter 6 trailer, May 2026

Translation by Anton Mei Brandt

This one is challenging to interpret due to the sheer number of scenarios that have now populated this story. 2026 Earth is one thing, but in 2207 we’ve got battles happening on both Earth and the Moon to contend with. Then there’s the “deceptive editing” trick to take into account, which intentionally clouds what we can predict. All that added together is what makes this so much fun to watch.

So here we go…

The teaser begins with Kiryuu Mikage revealing something once told to her by the dearly departed Hajime Saito.

Mikage Kiryu: I’d overheard him in the past. “Don’t let my appearance fool you. My ancestors were actually quite important,” he’d say.

Using a 2026-era tablet, said ancestor is reviewing a still image of Yamato in the skies, briefly scrolling past his own contribution to a publication called “The Diplomatist.” His name is Hajime 了一 (the latter half most commonly read as “Ryoichi,” but can also be read as Satokazu among others).

Ryoichi Saito: That’s… me.

We cut to the scene we were left with at the end of Chapter 5, Yamato drifting over Shinjuku, Tokyo, in 2026. The blocky building just left of center is the Shinjuku Piccadilly theater.

A quick shot of Yamanami in contemplation is followed by a sea battle on Earth with a line of Kongo-class battleships firing missiles.

We see Megumi Kanzaki awake for the first time since Episode 2, perhaps in a dream state. “REBEL 3199” graffiti is written on a metallic surface.

Two figures are outlined in a surveillance video, probably Alphon and Yuki.

Kodai takes in something important. Alphon and Isidore (?) are framed in spotlights, surrounded by Dezarium authorities.

Domon: This is… Dezarium.

More fighting on Earth: a Garm Biu vs mobile armor.

Alphon: There is something… still something which only Mother knows.

The grown-up Sasha unveils a capsule full of Dezarium com-medals.

2026, day: F2 fighters close in on Yamato over Tokyo. Ryoichi appears to meet with a mysterious someone in the dark.

Combat on the moon involving Tetsu Kitano and Saki Todo.

Saki Todo: A major operation is being planned on Earth. The objective of the operation is to neutralise the Grand Reverse…and to seize the Ginga.

Somewhere on Earth in 2207: Hoshina flattens against something as an explosion goes off in the background. Closeup of Nanbu reacting to something off-screen.

Ryoichi makes long-distance contact with what appears to be a departing Yamato, and Yuki (?) runs into a blood-red background…

…to be blasted from behind (hopefully only in a dream image). Saki appears on screen to complete her line.

Title frame: Chapter 6, The Azure Labyrinth

The Yamato theme is then abruptly cut, as Sasha, Domon and Ageha’s eyes glow red, the latter two wearing com-medals.

Sasha: This…is my choice.

Yamato sets off with incredible force, the fire from its engines turning a bright Dezarium-red, the same as that of phase energy.

Hoshina appears to exchange fire with Dezarium troops.

More action on 2207 Earth with Caterpillar fighters descending toward mobile armor.

Alphon: Memories of we Dezarians having lived on Earth are also being manufactured. Let’s assume they’re being rewritten.

Isidore, wearing civilian clothes, appears to drop by Makoto’s apartment to offer a com-medal. Who it’s for, we don’t know.

Yamato takes on a foreboding red glow as it advances. Nanbu and Ota are caught in a spotlight.

Elsewhere, Shino Todo has brought Makoto in for questioning.

Shino Todo: I’d like to enlist your aid for something. Please persuade him.

Yamato struggles with its overloaded take-off, the red phase energy particles colliding and causing damage.

Domon: Both planets Gamillas and Iscandar still exist. We’re the ones who should decide the future!

More shots of the sea battle on Earth, probably part of the operation to bring down the Grand Reverse.

Domon pulls a gun on Kodai, fed up with playing by rules and insisting on their next course of action: to change the future.

More fighting on Earth, likely near the base of the Grand Reverse.

The Grand Reverse lights up, bellowing out a shrill sound as it does. Sasha confronts someone who may or may not be Kodai, the latter shown in a way that he may or may not be responding to Sasha. If it is Kodai, he too is wearing a com-medal.

Sasha: Why won’t you say anything? Why won’t you get off Yamato? Why are you acting like-…

Kodai: Because we’re family.

Repated from the last teaser, Ginga takes off from the Moon, frying Dezarians in its backblast.

Ginga launches, energy pouring out from the Cosmo Reverse installed in its WMG cavity.

Yuki: Ginga, sail faster than the moonlight!

Look carefully and you can just barely see that Ginga is charging straight toward a firing Goruba.

On Yamato, Yamanami’s dressed up in full civilian gear, his hand on Kodai’s shoulder, a scene many fans online have taken as a death flag when combined with the following line:

Yamanami: I’d like you to see it through. As Captain…until the very end.

And lastly, Domon, his eyes watering, gazes up at something beyond our knowledge. Maybe even a lost future.
