Thoughts on Mother Dezarium

I wrote about my predictions regarding Mother Dezarium, the Dezarium home planet, and the Dezarium people toward the end of the last blog, so I hope you’ll give it a read. To summarize briefly: Mother Dezarium’s use of phase energy caused the Dezarium home planet to become surrounded by a “Dark Galaxy,” leading to environmental degradation that forced the Dezarium people to become cyborgs.

Having discovered a way to escape the Dark Galaxy, the Dezarium seized the Cosmo Reverse System from Iscandar, intending to restore their home planet’s environment and their own bodies. However, the plan failed when the planet Iscandar self-destructed. As an alternative, they planned to occupy Earth, overwrite human bodies with Dezarium memories, and make a fresh start as a new life form, or so I speculated prior to Chapter 6.

After watching Chapter 6, I feel that my earlier predictions were largely correct.

Sasha is likely a cyborg created by Mother Dezarium, formed by taking the memories of the two-year-old Sasha and adding fabricated memories on top. The reason for this is that a genuine Wave-Motion Core is required to overwrite the bodies of living humans with Dezarium memories. Mother Dezarium likely intended to use Sasha as a pawn to achieve this.

As for why Mother Dezarium knows about Earth, she likely extracted that information from Kaoru Niimi’s memories. She probably pulled the details regarding Ryoichi Saito from Kaoru’s memories of reading books, too. Since the Yamato crew couldn’t possibly know the specifics of Earth from 200 years ago, Mother Dezarium likely figured that presenting such concrete facts would make them believe her.

Mother Dezarium’s plan was probably to convince the Yamato crew that altering the past to avert a future catastrophe was the right thing to do. She intended to hijack the ship and seize the pure Wave-Motion Core. However, that plan fell apart when Kodai boarded Yamato and came to Sasha’s aid. The voices of her uncle Kodai and her mother Starsha managed to reach Sasha, breaking through Mother Dezarium’s brainwashing.

Also, even if Dezarium people are turned into cyborgs, they likely cannot live forever, perhaps because the digitized data of their minds has an expiration date. I suspect that might be the very fact Alphon alluded to, the secret Mother Dezarium is hiding.

The fact that the Digablas was unmanned might also be a result of this. It is even possible that every single Dezarium person remaining on their home planet has already perished. Living organisms cannot withstand the use of phase energy and would perish. Perhaps that is why, left all alone and longing for human connection, both the alien and Mother Dezarium sought a mate.

Mother Dezarium tried to manage human hearts to fill the void within them, but she couldn’t fully control Sasha’s heart.
Ultimately, even Alphon, himself a Dezarium, could not accept such methods.

Alphon might have been deliberately created as an “irregular unit” so that Mother Dezarium could understand the human heart. That’s why it might be easier for the brainwashing to break. Perhaps by resonating with Yuki, they are trying to liberate both Earthlings and Dezarium people from Mother Dezarium’s mad rule?

Some Dezarium people, including Isidore, might side with Alphon, but I have a feeling Ranbel won’t break free from the brainwashing, or perhaps he’ll keep believing in Mother Dezarium, and will end up dying in battle against Yamato.

Skaldart might be the only one among the Dezarium who knows the full extent of Mother Dezarium’s plan. But since Skaldart is staying behind on Earth, he’ll likely meet a different end than he did in Be Forever.

The Earth-based fleet destroyed the Goruba, which was acting as their power source, so they can no longer operate. With only ground forces left, and not many of them at that, perhaps they are merely feigning an intent to detonate the Hyperon Bomb to threaten the people of Earth? Alphon likely knows how to disarm it.

If Skaldart is remaining on Earth, Alphon might stand up for the conscience of the Dezarium people and confront Skaldart over his complicity in Mother Dezarium’s evil deeds. He might defeat Skaldart at the cost of his own life and stop the Hyperon Bomb from detonating, don’t you think?

As for Yamato, they’ll face off against Mother Dezarium at the Dezarium home world. I imagine that just as they’re struggling, Dessler will rush to their aid, commanding a Shalbart-class battleship and piloting the new-model Dessler ship that had been lying dormant on Planet Starsha.

Well, I can’t say for sure, but that’s how I’m predicting the ending of 3199 will play out.

Thoughts on Alphon

Alphon was injured while escaping the Digablas in Chapter 5, an event that freed him from Mother Dezarium’s spell. This sparked doubts in him regarding Mother Dezarium’s methods, doubts that others, like Isidore, came to share.

Back in 2205, seeing the Dezarium forces massacre the Garmillans filled me with such hatred for the Dezarium that I felt they all deserved to be wiped out. However, that line of reasoning leads to a counter-argument: since the Garmillans had slaughtered 70% of the Earth’s population, wouldn’t it be natural for Earthlings to hate them in return? Although Mother Dezarium’s schemes forced the Garmillans to leave Earth, the two peoples had managed to overcome their hatred and coexist prior to that.

So, I reconsidered; I realized that Mother Dezarium was the true object of hatred, and that Garmillans ought to coexist with Dezarium individuals like Alphon and Isidore.

I suspect a central theme of 3199 is the danger of humans ceasing to think for themselves and instead delegating all judgment to AI, even though AI is highly capable. I once read online that human IQ levels have been in decline since peaking in 1995. The theory cited was that modern society is so saturated with information that people are overwhelmed just trying to process it all, leaving them with less time for actual contemplation.

When I talk to young people, I often feel their reading comprehension is lacking because they simply don’t read enough books. It seems to me that they tend to accept whatever they see online at face value, without critically evaluating its authenticity, just like the Earthlings dominated by the “Comm-Medal.”

Alphon seems to be a Dezarium with a human-like sensibility, someone who now questions the methods of Mother Dezarium. While human judgment isn’t always correct, if people believe a decision is wrong, they can change the government in the next election. At least in a democracy. But if you leave all decisions to Mother Dezarium, the question becomes: “What happens when she makes a mistake?”

Alphon and his allies might end up fighting alongside Yuki and the Earthlings against Mother Dezarium. There will likely be casualties, and there is a chance of failure. An election, which avoids both casualties and chaos, is obviously far preferable.

I was deeply moved when Bemlarze changed his mindset in Chapter 5 and fought alongside them against the Dezarium forces. Then, in Chapter 6, Alphon also joined the fight against Mother Dezarium. It is this capacity for humans to overcome hatred (and I include Alphon here, as he is a human-like being) and join forces that I find so wonderful.

It isn’t that Mother Dezarium cannot coexist with others simply because she possesses “Phase Energy.” Rather, coexistence is impossible because she seeks to exclude or exploit others. Before worrying about loneliness, perhaps Mother Dezarium needs to abandon the “me-first” mentality.

The Dezarium people have lived as androids, but perhaps they can no longer continue to exist in that form for some reason. That might be why Mother Dezarium forcibly occupied Earth and attempted to hijack the bodies of Earthlings.
However, since a “Pure Wave-Motion Core” is required to transfer Dezarium memories into a living body, she likely tried to use Sasha as a pawn to seize Yamato and even impersonated future Earthlings.

Mother Dezarium remains shrouded in mystery, but I have a feeling the story will shape up into a scenario where Alphon rises up to represent human reason in opposition to the AI. And I predict that on Earth, Skaldart, standing as a representative who blindly supports Mother Dezarium, will block the way and confront Alphon.

I really hope Alphon manages to survive, becomes the new leader of the Dezarians, and guides a reborn Dezarium. I sincerely wish for a world where Earth, the Galman-Garmillas Empire, the Bolar Federation, and Dezarium can coexist peacefully.

Thoughts on Sasha

As I have written on this blog many times before, I surmise that Sasha did not spend 15 years growing up within the Dezarium civilization. Rather, time flowed for her just as it did on Earth.

She was likely sent to Yamato equipped with a 17-year-old android body and implanted with false memories. The objective appears to be the seizure of the Pure Wave-Motion Core. However, since I have covered this previously, please refer to past articles on this blog for further details. After all, there is no way a VIP kidnapped by Alphon would be able to escape so easily.

It makes more sense to assume that Sasha was brainwashed by Mother Dezarium and sent with the mission of either hijacking Yamato or forcing its surrender. However, since the brainwashing wasn’t absolute, she is able to converse with Starsha and ultimately refuse to alter the past of her own volition.

The reason Kaoru Niimi didn’t recognize Sasha in the final scene of Chapter 6 is likely because she only knows the two-year-old version of her. Kaoru surely never imagined that the toddler Sasha had been given an android body and false memories, transforming her into a 17-year-old.

Now, regarding my predictions for Chapter 7: I suspect that, separate from the seventeen-year-old Sasha (let’s call her “Android Sasha”), there is a two-year-old Sasha (let’s call her “Real Sasha”).

Real Sasha is likely either in a state of suspended animation or being held captive on the Dezarium home planet.

I predict that Android Sasha will die in battle on the Dezarium home planet, mirroring the events of Be Forever, but that Real Sasha will be rescued and survive. In Be Forever, the ending was heartbreaking because Sasha, who had lived for only a year, sacrificed herself for Earth. I imagine 3199 might offer a more redemptive conclusion since Real Sasha survives.

To make an even bolder prediction: it might be Heiney who rescues Real Sasha. I still find it hard to believe that a character who was treated with such importance would die so casually. It wouldn’t be surprising if he had a moment to shine by rescuing Real Sasha and successfully escaping.

Alternatively, perhaps Kaoru will rescue Real Sasha and escape while the Dezarium home planet is in chaos from the attack. Well, we don’t know exactly how things will play out, but after seeing the final scene of Chapter 6, it seems certain that the Dezarium home planet operates on the same timeline as Earth, meaning it isn’t Earth in the future, right?

Chapter 6 left many mysteries unresolved, so I’m really curious to see what happens next.

Thoughts on Skaldart

Skaldart is a character whose background has been significantly altered compared to the original Be Forever Yamato; in 3199, he has actually landed on Earth. In Chapter 7, he will likely hole up inside the Grand Reverse, standing as the final adversary for both the Earthlings and Alphon.

I speculate that the Dezarium people are reaching the limits of existing in android bodies and have an urgent need to acquire organic bodies. That’s why they’re using the Grand Reverse to wipe the memories of Earthlings and overwrite those bodies with Dezarium memories. However, since writing memories into organic bodies, rather than android ones, requires a “Genuine Wave-Motion Core,” they are likely sending a brainwashed Sasha to infiltrate Yamato and secure that core.

While they dither, Dezarium people are dying off one after another. It is possible that not a single one remains on the Dezarium home planet? Perhaps that explains why the Digablas was unmanned.

I suspect that the home planet, where Mother Dezarium resides, is defended only by unmanned Goruba fortresses and fleets, with Grodez (which pursues Yamato) being the only manned vessel. Personally, I hope to see the Galman-Garmillas fleet, led by Dessler, destroy the unmanned Dezarium fleet using the Hyper Dessler Cannon, while Yamato engages in a one-on-one duel with Grodez.

Meanwhile, back on Earth, the Dezarium fleet has lost its Goruba and its energy source, rendering it immobile. Skaldart will likely attempt to defend the Grand Reverse using only his ground forces. While Skaldart has become the prime example of someone completely subservient to Mother Dezarium, Alphon seems poised to represent the Dezarium people who have broken free from her spell and are striving to live as true human beings.

I have a feeling a complex conflict will unfold on Earth, pitting an alliance of Earthlings and Dezarium loyalists against an alliance of Earthlings and Dezarium rebels seeking independence from Mother Dezarium.

In Be Forever Yamato, we saw the unlikely scenario of the head of state, Skaldart, fighting Sasha one-on-one. I wonder if 3199 might feature a battle between Skaldart and Alphon instead? That would certainly make Alphon look even cooler.
Alphon looks so cool in 3199, I really hope he survives and becomes the new leader for the Dezarium people who have escaped Mother Dezarium’s control.
