Thoughts on the Mystery of the Aliens and Phase Energy
My theory is that Dezarium obtained information about phase energy from those aliens and put it to practical use.
However, this likely caused Mother Dezarium’s thought processes to become deranged and accelerated the cooling of their environment.
Furthermore, the Dezarium home world became enveloped by a “Dark Galaxy,” trapping them inside and preventing them from leaving.
Unable to escape the Dark Galaxy and facing a rapidly cooling environment, the Dezarium people likely found their bodies unable to withstand the conditions, leading them to convert themselves into cyborgs.
Some Dezarians managed to escape the Dark Galaxy to obtain the Cosmo Reverse from Iscandar, attempting to use it to restore their home world and their own bodies to their original states. When that plan failed due to the self-destruction of Iscandar, I surmise they turned to “Plan B”: occupying Earth and seizing the bodies of Earthlings to regenerate their own race.
This raises a question: why hasn’t Earth undergone cooling?
If they were relaying massive amounts of phase energy, like the Digablas, cooling would occur. Perhaps the amount of phase energy used by the Dezarium occupation fleet on Earth isn’t sufficient to trigger such cooling. However, even if they successfully conquered Earth and took over human bodies, wouldn’t the planet eventually cool down, just like the Galman-Garmillas home world or the planet Berth, as long as they continued to utilize phase energy?
Therefore, it seems Dezarium would need to abandon phase energy in favor of an alternative power source. Wave-Motion Energy could be that alternative, and they might require Yamato‘s genuine Wave-Motion Core to fully harness it for themselves. That is likely why they are trying to force Yamato to surrender and seize that genuine Wave-Motion Core. Also, personally, I suspect that a “Genuine Wave-Motion Core” might be required to imprint the memories of the Dezarium people onto a living, organic body, as opposed to a mechanical one.
Given Dezarium’s overwhelming military might, they should certainly be capable of wiping out humanity and sinking Yamato.
The fact that they haven’t done so, instead spreading disinformation claiming to be “future Earthlings” to deceive us, and refraining from using their full force to destroy Yamato, suggests there is a specific reason for this behavior, doesn’t it?

Chapter 6 Predictions (Final Answer)
With the release of Chapter 6 just 12 days away, a video showing the opening minutes will likely be released around the 19th. Since I’ll have plenty of topics to discuss starting next week, I’ll use today, when I’m short on material, to write down my “final answer” regarding my predictions.
First off, I believe Kaoru Niimi remains 35 years old. As I’ve written in previous posts, I suspect that the claim of her being taken to Dezarium and spending 15 years there was actually a piece of disinformation by Mother Dezarium.
You might be wondering, “So, what happens to Sasha?” but I’ve already covered that in a previous post about her, so please check that out.
It’s possible that the current Sasha isn’t in a living, organic body, but is actually a cyborg created by Dezarium. Perhaps they extracted the memories of the two-year-old Sasha and implanted false memories of having spent 15 years with the Dezarium. The data was written directly onto her living body, but that raises the question: whose body does 17-year-old Sasha actually possess? As for the physical examination she underwent on Earth, the device embedded inside her likely fed them false data.
If Sasha’s body is cybernetic, Dezarium could control her in a pinch. They could have her board Yamato to track its location, turn the crew to their side, and force the ship to surrender. After all, the reason Dezarium, despite boasting such immense military might, doesn’t simply sink Yamato is likely because they need the genuine Wave-Motion Core installed on board.
That’s why they go to the trouble of pretending to be future Earthlings and planting Sasha on Yamato, even though it’s a hassle. For starters, it’s strange that a VIP like Sasha could escape so easily. Security in the year 3199 surely wouldn’t be that lax.
The true objective of Chapter 6 is likely for Dezarium to show the crew a fake Earth from 2026 while manipulating Sasha to convince them that “correcting the past is the right thing to do,” thereby forcing Yamato to surrender so they can seize the genuine Wave-Motion Core.
However, Kodai won’t fall for it, and that’s where cracks will start to appear in the Dezarium’s plans. I imagine the story will then unfold with Alphon, questioning Mother Dezarium’s heavy-handed methods, siding with the Earthlings and providing Yuki with crucial information.
Abelt Dessler
What I’m really hoping for in Chapter 7 is a scene where Yamato is surrounded by the Goruba fleet and facing certain doom, only for Dessler to swoop in and say, “Kept you waiting, Kodai! I’ll handle that nuisance!” He would then fire the Hyper Dessler Cannon, a weapon against which even phase armor is useless, and obliterate the Goruba fleet! What’s more, I’d love it if Heiny survived and rescued Sasha, who had been left behind on the Dezarium home planet, much like General Talan rescued Dessler in Yamato 2:
Captain Dagon: “Charging in with just one ship? What a fool! Prepare to fire main guns!”
Heiny: “Wait! Princess Sasha is on board!”
Everyone: “Whoa!”
Then, the Dezarium home planet, having lost its hostage Sasha, would be obliterated by the Hyper Dessler Cannon. The Dark Galaxy would collapse, and Mother Dezarium and the Dezarium people would all be wiped out. That would be a great ending! And as for the surviving Sasha, since Kodai already has Yuki, it would be perfect if she left Earth, emigrated to the Galman-Garmillas Empire, and became the wife of Leader Dessler!

Plot Developments I Hope to See from Chapter 6 Onward
With less than a week left until the release of Chapter 6, I had expected the opening minutes to be released on YouTube, but that didn’t happen. Since I’m short on topics, I’ll write down the developments I hope to see in 3199 from Chapter 6 onwards.
① I want Sasha to survive
In the original series, they got a taste for that “Showa-era” style of storytelling, killing off characters to wring tears from the audience, like in Farewell to Yamato. While I thought the deaths of Yamamoto, Saito, and Kato in Yamato 2, or Starsha’s self-sacrifice in The New Voyage, were effective dramatic choices, I question whether it was really necessary for characters like Mamoru, Sasha, Domon, Ageha, and Shima to die in subsequent installments. It’s painful enough just watching Starsha seemingly tell Sasha, who has only been alive for a year, to sacrifice herself for the sake of Earth. Wouldn’t that render meaningless the fact that Starsha blew herself up to save the lives of her husband and daughter?
My theory is that the current Sasha is an android, just like the Dezarians, and that the story about her growing up among them for 15 years is likely disinformation implanted by Mother Dezarium. I suspect the real Sasha, who would be two years old, is actually in stasis on the Dezarium home world, and I want to see her rescued. As the last surviving Iscandarian, I want her to live and find happiness.
② I want the Hyper Dessler Cannon to annihilate the Goruba fleet
I haven’t forgotten the humiliation Dessler suffered in The New Voyage, when Meldars mocked the Dessler Cannon as nothing more than “an energy projectile no better than a pebble.” That’s why sinking the Goruba with the Hyper Dessler Cannon is my life’s greatest wish.
Imagine Yamato, just one step away from the Dezarium home world, surrounded by the Goruba fleet led by Kazan, facing a desperate, no-win situation. Just as Kodai is on the verge of despair, the Dessler attack theme plays, and Dessler himself appears.
“Kept you waiting, didn’t I, Kodai?! I’ll handle that nuisance! Kodai, what are you doing?! Go, hurry!”
With those words, he fires the Hyper Dessler Cannon, wiping out the entire Goruba fleet. Don’t you want to see that scene? I wouldn’t be able to die in peace without seeing it! (Haha) Since Dessler, the hero of my life, was put through such a terrible ordeal in 2199, I feel like we deserve a surprise like this.
③ I want Heiny to be alive and rescue Sasha
I feel that Heiny, a character who was treated with such importance, died far too easily, without ever getting a moment to truly shine. That’s why I suspect he might still be alive and waiting for his big moment.
Sada: “Both the Garmillas fleet and Yamato will be sunk by my Dezarium fleet.”
Heiny: “If that’s the case, my life has no meaning. I ask to be executed.”
Sada: “Very well. Step forward!”
Heiny elbows a guard, snatches his gun, and points it at Sada.
Heiny: “I’ll be taking my leave now. This room is a bit too cramped for a soldier of the Great Garmillas Empire!”
Guard: “Lord Sada!”
Sada: “Calm yourself!”
Taking Sada hostage, Heiny rescues Sasha, who is sleeping in a capsule, and boards a Caterpillar.
Sada: “Fire!! Shoot those two!!”
Just as the hatch of the Dezarium home planet is about to close, they manage to escape by the skin of their teeth. Despite piloting a Caterpillar for the first time, Heiny handles it surprisingly well. Dodging pursuit, he closes in on the Garmillas-Gamilon fleet.
Dagon: “Reckless fool, charging in with just a single craft. Prepare main cannons to fire!!”
Heiny: “Wait! Princess Sasha is on board!!”
Everyone: “Whoa!!”
That’s the kind of scenario I’m hoping for.
[Translator’s note: this is a direct rewrite of Dessler’s escape from the Comet Empire in Yamato 2.]④ I want Domon and Ageha to survive, too
Given that there haven’t been any episodes regarding the control of the sun or Princess Luda so far, and considering there are only eight episodes left, it’s unlikely we’ll see that kind of plot development now. That means the opportunity for a scene where Domon or Ageha die has effectively passed. There’s no need to manufacture a pointless death scene for them at this stage. I want them to survive and keep doing their best as Yamato crew members until the very end.
⑤ I want Shino Todo and Kozo Nanbu to be captured by partisans and executed, like Mussolini
The story will probably frame Shino Todo and Kozo Nanbu as people who “lost loved ones in the war against Garmillas and wanted a fresh start.” I anticipate a scenario where they realize their mistake, risk their lives to uncover a weakness in Dezarium, and die in the process.
That’s not what I want, though. I want them to be seized by enraged partisans and lynched or executed, or perhaps put on trial later and sentenced to death for treason (collaboration with a foreign power). I simply cannot forgive the idea of them selling Earth out to Dezarium and then dying as “good guys.”
⑥ I want Bemlarze to join the battle against the Dezarium home planet.
While it would be fine for Ram to lead the Bolar Federation fleet into the battle for the Dezarium home planet, I’d prefer to see Bemlarze board the Zespaze and join the fight himself. I want to see the Bolar Federation, which has become incredibly cool in 3199, get a proper, definitive conclusion. I’d love to see Bemlarze launch a Black Hole Cannon attack against the Dezarium home world and the Goruba fleet!
⑦ A route where Boroze takes on a role similar to Ageha’s
However, Grodez keeps firing its rapid-fire Infinite Beta Cannons, making it impossible to find the right moment to fire the Hyper Dessler Cannon. So, Boroze launches a suicide attack on Grodez, stopping the Infinite Beta Cannons.
Dessler: “Did you see that, Talan? The flower that the former Governor-General of the Galman home world made bloom by risking his life?”
Talan: “Yes, sir!”
Dessler: “We must not let that flower scatter in vain! Fire the Hyper Dessler Cannon!”
Considering he used to shout things like “Pick up that collar!” if he changes this much, I think Boroze would become a legendary character.
⑧ A route where Boroze becomes Bemelarze’s successor and Dessler’s ally in both name and deed
Alternatively, it would be great to see Boroze, who advised Bemelarze to wipe out the Witch of Uralia, get back on the fast track to promotion. Since Ram comes from a vassal state, it would be difficult for him to become the next Supreme Administrative Chairman, so Boroze would be the one to succeed Bemelarze.
After Bemelarze’s death, Darya, who held a position similar to Beria in the Soviet Union, would be arrested and executed, leaving Boroze to seize full authority.
The very man who once scoffed, “The idea of us being allies is laughable,” would end up becoming the Galman-Gamilon Empire’s most ardent ally. After defeating a common enemy, much like Dessler and Kodai in the original series, wouldn’t it be incredibly moving to see Dessler and Boroze having a heart-to-heart in deep space? I’m really hoping for these kinds of storylines, so I’m counting on the 3199 staff to make it happen (lol).
I’m really looking forward to the release of Chapter 6!

Chapter 6 Review & Overall Impressions
Chapter 6 is so packed with content that I can’t possibly cover it all in a single review, so I’ll just write about the parts that left the biggest impression on me.
Let’s start with that final scene.
Sasha went to rescue Kaoru, but Kaoru didn’t look fifty years old, and more importantly, she didn’t recognize Sasha. As I had predicted, it seems the idea that Sasha had spent fifteen years with the Dezarium was just a false memory implanted by Mother Dezarium.
And, as I mentioned in a previous post, the current Sasha is likely a cyborg created by the Dezarium. That’s probably why Kaoru doesn’t recognize her when she sees her now. I also suspect there might be a 2-year-old Sasha still with Dezarium. I don’t know if that two-year-old Sasha is conscious or being kept in a state of suspended animation, though. If they succeed in rescuing the 2-year-old Sasha, there would be two Sashas. Given the flow of the story, that might mean the current Sasha could die.
I’ve written this many times before, but I always felt the original Be Forever Yamato was a bit sloppily made. The reason the Dezarium pretended to be future Earthlings was unclear, and the handling of characters like Mamoru and Sasha felt careless. It was a cheap kind of storytelling that seemed to ask, “Who should we kill off to make the audience cry?” The New Voyage was very entertaining, but Be Forever always left me feeling unsatisfied.
I became a Yamato fan during the summer vacation of my second year of elementary school, after seeing a double feature of the Yamato movie and Farewell to Yamato [1979]. So, I am likely a bit younger than the fans who watched the original Yamato broadcast in real time.
I started watching the TV series in real time with Yamato 2. That’s why Yamato 2 is my favorite.
To be honest, I feel that 2199 stripped away the most essential elements of Yamato. Kodai lost his parents in the war against Gamilas, and with the death of his older brother Mamoru, his last remaining family member, he was left completely alone.
That’s why he directed his hatred toward a Gamilas prisoner of war, even going so far as to try to kill him. Regardless of the reason, a soldier attempting to kill a vulnerable prisoner is a despicable act.
Yet, upon seeing the Gamilas home planet transformed into a dead world, Kodai realized that the Gamilas people, too, had been struggling desperately to survive, and he shed tears. Needless to say, this moment laid the groundwork for his eventual reconciliation with Dessler in Yamato 2.
Then, upon arriving at Iscandar, he discovered that his brother Mamoru, whom he had believed dead, was actually alive, leading to a deeply moving reunion. However, Mamoru chose love with Starsha and decided to remain on Iscandar. Kodai accepted his brother’s decision with a smile. This, too, marked a moment of growth for Kodai.
For me, 2199 was a disappointing work because it cut out so many of the scenes I loved in the original Yamato.
Of course, even though I feel this way, others might well consider it a magnificent work. I have no intention of insisting that my opinion is the only correct one, but the shock of it all left me with no desire to watch the subsequent remakes.
I did end up watching the later installments, however, and I believe the quality improved dramatically with 2205. I felt it was an ideal remake, one that effectively utilized elements of the original while successfully filling in the gaps. I loved 2205 so much that I would happily give it 10 billion points out of 100.
I thought it would be difficult to surpass that work, but 3199 turned out to be even more entertaining. It’s impossible to put an exact number on it, but if I had to guess, I’d say it’s something like 100 trillion times 100 trillion, the temperature of the universe right after its birth (lol). With an unexpected storyline that incorporates original elements and a careful, charming exploration of each character’s depth, I believe 3199 is the greatest anime of the 21st century.
If Chapter 7 includes the scene where the Dezarium fleet is annihilated by the Hyper Dessler Cannon, my lifelong dream, and a scene where Sasha survives and finds happiness, I think it will surpass even Yamato 2, which has held the title of my all-time favorite anime until now.
I’ve digressed a bit, but after watching the final scene of Chapter 6, I found myself worrying about Sasha. Still, I trust that the amazing staff behind the show will ensure she finds happiness.
Also, while the Dezarium viewed human imperfection negatively in Chapter 6, I believe the ability to live on because of hope is the most wonderful aspect of humanity. After all, if we lived lives that were merely “tuned” or regulated, we wouldn’t be human anymore.
That’s why Nanbu’s speech really resonated with me. It seemed like Kozo had a plan in mind when he accepted the Dezarium. The way he spoke suggested he didn’t have much time left, either.
In contrast, the ugliness of Shino Todo attempting to blackmail Makoto really stood out. Then again, Shino likely lost someone precious in the war against Garmillas, so she probably feels strongly about preventing that kind of tragedy from happening again.
The setup is brilliant, too: cutting off the phase energy relay, sinking the Goruba (which served as the battery) thanks to the Ginga‘s efforts, and having the partisans attack the weakened Dezarium occupation force. I feel like every single aspect of the 3199 setting is masterfully crafted.
And having Alphon and Isidore as allies is incredibly reassuring. It adds such depth to the story that, while there are Earthlings who pledge loyalty to Dezarium, there are also Dezarians who side with Earth. Even so, I have a feeling that Ranbel, despite harboring some misgivings, will continue to follow Mother Dezarium to the bitter end and likely end up fighting against Yamato.
It seems likely that Mother Dezarium’s mind became warped after being corrupted by the “Witch,” a consequence of utilizing phase energy. In fact, wasn’t it the phase energy itself that caused the global cooling, making the environment uninhabitable for the aliens and leading to their near-extinction?
The Dezarium people believed they could control phase energy and proceeded to put it to practical use, but the resulting cooling was apparently unavoidable. On top of that, their home planet was engulfed by the Dark Galaxy, trapping them inside. Unable to withstand the cold in their natural bodies, they converted themselves into cyborgs and mechanized their home planet.
Having managed to escape into outer space by some means, the Dezarians sought to restore their bodies and home planet to their original state, attempting to seize the Cosmo Reverse system from Iscandar. However, that plan failed when Iscandar self-destructed.
So, as “Plan B,” they likely attempted to occupy Earth and hijack the bodies of its inhabitants. With Dezarium technology, they can write memories into cyborg bodies, but apparently not into living, organic flesh. I suspect the “Pure Wave-Motion Core” is required to make that possible. That explains why they went to such elaborate lengths to capture Yamato intact.
And I wonder, much like the situation with Godom in Blue Noah, if Dezarium lives are being lost one after another even as we speak? My theory is that Mother Dezarium is manipulating the memories of her people to cover up the catastrophic damage caused by the very phase energy utilization she championed.
Well, I have no idea if I’m actually right or not, though! (Haha) There’s still so much more I want to write, but this is getting long, so I’ll wrap it up here for now.
