I think Dezarium will stage a false flag operation where the Galman-Garmillas Empire fires a planet-destroying missile at Earth to provoke a decisive confrontation between Earth and Galman-Garmillas. Dezarium will then claim to have successfully intercepted it, aiming to gain the trust of Earthlings.

The Dark Nebula Empire from the original series was also underhanded, and it’s my least favorite enemy in Yamato history, but Dezarium in 3199 is on a whole different level.

Despite having superior scientific and military power compared to Earth and the Galman-Garmillas Empire, their actions are so petty it’s heartbreaking. It’s likely that the story will end with the Earthlings’ feelings toward the Galman-Garmillas Empire worsening, and the narrative focusing on Earth and Dezarium.

After that, Yamato will arrive at the home planet of the Galman-Garmillas Empire and reunite with Dessler. Of course, the crew of Yamato knows that the planet-destroying missiles were a Dezarium deception, so the friendly relationship between Yamato and the Galman-Garmillas Empire will likely be maintained.

Then, the battle between the Galman-Garmillas Empire and the Bolar Federation will be depicted. Personally, I think the story will focus on the Galman-Garmillas Empire and the Bolar Federation until around the middle of Chapter 5 or 6.

What’s hard to predict is Captain Ram, since the Galman-Garmillas Empire, which is already stretched thin defending against the Bolar Federation’s offensive, shouldn’t have the resources to invade Planet Berth.

As a wild guess, the Galman-Garmillas Empire, whose population has drastically decreased, might adopt a strategy to counter the Bolar Federation’s overwhelming national power by liberating oppressed ethnic groups like the Galman people and incorporating them into their own population. If that happens, the Planet Berth, which is suffering under the Bolar Federation’s oppressive rule, might also defect from the Bolar Federation.

Regardless of whether such a scenario is possible, is this the only way the Galman-Garmillas Empire can realistically counter the Bolar Federation?

Due to time constraints, the story about going to the planet of Shalbart may be omitted. If the Galman-Garmillas Empire’s planet-destroying missiles hit the sun, Earth would be occupied by Dezarium, and Earth’s lifespan would be reduced to one year, causing the scenario to spiral into chaos. Therefore, it is unlikely that the planet-destroying missiles will hit the sun. In that case, there would be no need to go to Shalbart. If they were to go to Shalbart, there would likely be another reason added.

Additionally, the location for the direct confrontation between Dessler and Bemlarze is unlikely to be near Earth. It would be unnatural for the Galman-Garmillas Empire and the Bolar Federation to fight so close to Earth, which is already occupied by Dezarium.

Considering these circumstances, the scenario for Yamato III will likely be significantly revised in 3199. Well, that would be fresher and more interesting for the audience, I think.

There are still three months until the screening of Chapter 4, so I can’t wait!!

JULY 13

Examining the Battle with Dezarium

See the original post here

I predict that the battle between the Galman-Garmillas Empire and the Bolar Federation will be depicted until the end of Chapter 5 or the middle of Chapter 6. After that, I think it will follow the story of Be Forever again. However, even if the story shifts to that from the middle of Chapter 6, there is still plenty of time, so additional battles may be added, such as Yamato destroying the intermediate supply base and the Goruba fleet.

In the Be Forever storyline, Yamato was surrounded by the Goruba fleet and seemed to be in a desperate situation, but then the entire fleet was annihilated by wave cartridge rounds, which was a huge letdown. Goruba, who was supposed to be strong against Wave-Motion Guns, suddenly becomes weak against them, and the Kazan fleet, which was supposed to be tracking Yamato, goes missing. (According to online sources, it was apparently destroyed in the explosion of the Goruba fleet.)

The Be Forever version feels rushed and poorly executed in every aspect.

This time, they introduced Ranbel and gave Grodez a rival position to Yamato, so I wish they had depicted the battle with Dezarium with a bit more care. However, personally, I think the battle with the intermediate supply base was well-depicted and had a lot of impact for an anime from that era. Scenes like the Cosmo Tiger infiltrating the intermediate supply base and Yamato‘s main guns firing at the base are particularly memorable.

Also, in Be Forever, they try to deceive people by claiming to be future Earthlings, but if they’re going to make mistakes like having the hands of The Thinker reversed or making childish errors, they should just detonate the Hyperon Bomb, wipe out all the Earthlings, and have Yamato fight Dezarium on its home planet. That way, the Dark Nebula Empire would have won.

It’s also sad that Sasha, who has only been alive for a year, sacrifices her life to save Earth, and it’s odd that Starsha, who sacrificed her life to save her daughter, tells her daughter to sacrifice herself for Earth.

I think the story of Be Forever is so terrible, both the battle scenes and the ending, that it should be drastically revised. This isn’t a Showa-era anime, so I think it’s outdated to kill off anyone and everyone just to elicit tears. However, I’d like them to avoid a ridiculous ending where the Holy Emperor Skaldart goes mad and tries to drop “Axis” on Dezarium, and Yamato stops him with a Wave-Motion Gun and saves the Dezarium people.

But since 3199 features ordinary citizens of Dezarium, maybe Dezarium won’t be completely destroyed like Gatlantis.
Personally, I think Dezarium exists in a different universe, so I think the ending will be something like Earth and Dezarium returning to their respective universes and being sealed off so they can never travel between them again.

JULY 20

About Goruba

See the original post here

With six months between chapters 3 and 4, I’m running out of material. I guess I’ll write about Goruba.

Goruba first appeared in The New Voyage and its impact was tremendous when it remained unharmed by the Dessler Cannon and called it “a pebble-like energy bullet.” Thanks to Starsha’s sacrifice, we managed to defeat it, leaving us with the impression of Goruba being the strongest enemy in Yamato history.

After that, enemies appeared like Dezarium and Zespaze, which could withstand Wave Guns and Dessler Cannons, but none had the same impact as Goruba, who had resistance from the start.

If we consider resistance to Wave-Motion Guns alone, Zespaze, which withstood dozens of Dessler Cannon hits, might be superior to Goruba, which only withstood a small version. Even Goruba might not be able to withstand dozens of Dessler Cannons, but Zespaze actually did.

Also, I often see opinions that the super-giant battleship of Gatlantis had Wave Gun resistance, but since there’s no such description in the work, I’ll exclude that. Maybe there’s such a note in books or something, but I think if there is, it should be mentioned in the work itself.

When seven even larger Goruba-type floating fortresses surrounded the Yamato, I wondered how they would defeat that formidable enemy, and my heart swelled with anticipation. Yet, the fact that they were all wiped out by wave cartridge bullets with only one-hundredth the power of a Wave Gun was such a gag manga-like ending that even I, who was in third grade at the time, was disappointed.

Sasha, who was just born, becomes 17 in a year and dies, and yet there’s a moment where the arms of a sculpture are reversed, leaving me speechless. That’s why I think Be Forever is the least interesting of the original works. Still, it’s far better than 2199, where Dessler goes mad and tries to destroy the Garmillas homeworld. If Garmillas people can only survive on their homeworld, what was he planning to do after destroying it?

The conversation has strayed, but the humiliation of being mocked as “energy bullets like pebbles” has not faded in over forty years.

Furthermore, as compensation for the terrible changes made to Dessler in 2199, I would like to see an additional episode where, when Yamato is surrounded by seven Goruba-type floating fortresses, Dessler rushes to the scene like in Final Yamato and destroys them with the Hyper Dessler Cannon.

There’s an interpretation issue with Yamato III: You could argue that Dessler was able to destroy the Zespaze because Ageha rammed it and he fired the Hyper Dessler Cannon at its damaged sections. Or you could argue that Ageha’s suicide attack forced the new Dessler ship to stop, allowing the Hyper Dessler Cannon to be fired.

In my opinion, even though the Dessler cannons were ineffective, Dessler deliberately ordered the firing of the Hyper Dessler Cannon because he believed it would work even if the Dessler cannons didn’t. Otherwise, there would be no reason to order the firing of the Hyper Dessler Cannon.

As it is, the Dark Nebula Empire was already the most hated enemy of the Yamato, but Dezarium has become even more despicable by using tactics to drive a wedge between Earth and Garmillas. So I want Dessler to take revenge on Dezarium, the worst enemy, and settle the long-standing grudge. After all, Garmillas people were massacred in large numbers in 2205.

Also, I want Dezarium’s home planet to be destroyed by the Hyper Dessler Cannon, for Sasha to survive without dying, become Dessler’s wife, and become a symbol of Garmillas’ revival. Additionally, I don’t want Domon or Ageha to die. It’s not the Showa era anymore, so I feel like the technique of killing someone to make people cry is outdated.

Well, in any case, I hope they don’t repeat the ending where Goruba is wiped out by a wave cartridge bullet.

JULY 27

Analysis of Captain Ram and Planet Berth

See the original post here

The preview video for Chapter 4 was uploaded the other day.

First, the fact that Kodai is talking to Captain Ram suggests that Kodai had some kind of contact with him. In Yamato III, General Dagon fought against the Planet Berth fleet, and Captain Ram, who was defeated, reached Earth’s territory and made contact with Yamato.

However, in 3199, the existence of the Galman-Garmillas Empire is known to Earth, and the Galman-Garmillas Empire is in its infancy with no infrastructure in place, so it would be unlikely to have the resources to invade another country. In fact, they are likely struggling just to defend their home planet from the Bolar Federation’s invasion.

The Garmillas Empire lost 70% of its population during the Dezarium invasion, leaving it at around 20 to 30 million. Even with the Galman people added, the total population is likely around 50 million. In this state, they must simultaneously wage a war to defend their home planet and develop their infrastructure, which is a tremendous challenge.

Captain Ram mentioned that the reason Planet Berth became a vassal state of the Bolar Federation is due to the “Witch of Uralia.” The true identity of the Witch of Uralia is still unknown, but it is likely related to the Dezarium.

I speculate that it is a wormhole-like entity used by the Dezarium to travel between their universe and ours. This wormhole is likely causing adverse effects on the Milky Way Galaxy. Since Planet Berth alone cannot counter this threat, it had no choice but to submit to the Bolar Federation.

In the original series, Berth was a remote outpost far from the Bolar Federation’s homeworld. Before the founding of the Galman-Garmillas Empire, the Bolar Federation was on the verge of unifying the Milky Way Galaxy, but the Galman-Garmillas Empire was founded in the central part of the Milky Way Galaxy, splitting it in two. This may be why Berth became an outpost.

Such an outlying territory is strategically disadvantageous for defense, so abandoning it and reorganizing the front lines would have been a wiser choice. However, the Bolar Federation had been suffering consecutive defeats against the Galman-Garmillas Empire, and abandoning Berth here might have led to a domino effect of defections, similar to how Tatsuyori Takeda abandoned Takeda Castle and was eventually defeated.

That is why Prime Minister Bemlarze, despite the risks, decided to personally inspect this outlying territory. However, once he realized that the planet was unnecessary, he would have disposed of it without hesitation, which is typical of Prime Minister Bemlarze.

However, judging from this preview, the planet in 3199 seems to maintain a certain degree of independence compared to the one in Yamato III, so it is likely that the Bolar Federation has offered conditions such as granting complete independence if Dessler is defeated.

Unlike Yamato III, 3199 seems to have plenty of spotlight moments for Captain Ram, so I’m really looking forward to it. As a result, the fate of Captain Ram and Planet Berth may change significantly.

Personally, I love Dessler and the Galman-Garmillas Empire, but at the same time, I’m also a fan of the Soviet Army, so I like the Bolar Federation as well. For both the Galman-Garmillas Empire and the Bolar Federation, the greatest enemy is Dezarium. As compensation for the insult to Dessler, I hope they will cede half of the Milky Way Galaxy to the Galman-Garmillas Empire, hand over the custody of Boroze and Rebarus to the Galman-Garmillas Empire, and form an alliance to jointly fight against the hated Dezarium.

With Yamato, the Galman-Garmillas fleet centered around the new Dessler-class battleships (equipped with Hyper Dessler Cannons), and the Zespaze, which boasts defense capabilities equal to or surpassing those of Dezarium’s homeworld, forming a dream team to fight Dezarium — that would be thrilling!!

Well, I don’t think such a scenario will happen. (Laugh) Either way, the battle between Dessler and Captain Ram is something to look forward to!!

Return to previous article

[1

post-41328","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-uncategorized
["GET
