Based on Leiji Matsumoto&#8217;s rough design, Kazutaka Miyatake of Studio Nue put together the design, and together with Naoyuki Kato and Kenichi Matsuzaki of the same studio, he drew numerous exterior and interior structure settings.<\/p>\n<p><em>Yamato<\/em>, which is the title mecha, had over 150 drawings for the design alone, and was meticulously detailed, something that had never been seen before in the anime of that era.
