Released to the world on February 14, this one was packed with quick-change images that build up several fascinating scenarios. Here’s our analysis from start to finish…<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

On the veranda of Alphon’s command post, Yuki looks out to the horizon as Alphon recounts his recent excursion.<\/p>\n

Alphon:<\/em><\/span> I met Kodai. He’s a tough man.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Alphon:<\/em><\/span> Next time, I might have to kill him.<\/p>\n

Yuki reacts and we cut to the first shot of Yamato<\/em> emerging from a cloud and firing in all directions.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Quick inserts of Kodai in pilot helmet and Sada in the Dezarium gallery space.<\/p>\n

Kodai:<\/em><\/span> Mistakes…<\/p>\n

Nanbu (voice over):<\/em><\/span> …must be corrected.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Space Calvary troopers in mobile armor line up for action in what looks like another Dezarium facility.
\nThen we cut to Megumi Kanzaki, who we haven’t seen for a while. She now wears the same jewel on her neck that we’ve seen on Dezarium personnel.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

On board Yamato<\/em>, Domon gets into a tussle with Ageha (again). They were friends in the academy until something unspecified happened to put them at odds with each other. Maybe this time we’ll find out what.<\/p>\n

Ageha (voice over):<\/em><\/span> He’s facing them head on. (Probably talking about Kodai)<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Alphon is back in his “battle body” and charging forward in a Dezarium fighter.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

He takes a shot and Kodai’s Cosmo Tiger (designated by the red tail fins) dodges it.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Back on Earth (probably), Yasuo Nanbu faces off against his father, who has taken the side of Dezarium.<\/p>\n

Nanbu’s father:<\/em><\/span> Yasuo…<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Title shot: Yamato<\/em> hurtles forward in pitched battle against Dezarium mecha.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

To the delight of longtime fans, we then get our first look at Arizona<\/em>, moored in drydock on Earth. Its shock cannons activate and power up to fire through their sleeves.<\/p>\n

Voice:<\/em><\/span> Main guns, fire!<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

A shock cannon burst blasts through the dock building and tears across the surface of a nearby lake, boiling the water as it stretches out.<\/p>\n

Hoshina (voice over):<\/em><\/span> This operation will be a signal for the anti-Dezarium forces to rise up.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The blast finds its way across the water and zeros in on its target: the Grand Reverse!<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

It takes a direct hit and is blasted to rubble. Or so it seems.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Another shot of the Nanbus facing each other, then an insert of Sada. Is she watching them?<\/p>\n

Voice:<\/em><\/span> Rebellion.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

We return to Yamato<\/em> firing at a cloaked Grodez<\/em> in what looks very much like the Rainbow Star Cluster.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Yamato<\/em>‘s omnidirectional radar room is “shattered” as a female crew member sits at her station.<\/p>\n

Sanada (voice over):<\/em><\/span> Prepare to activate the omnidirectional radar room.<\/p>\n

We cut to Yuki back on Earth…<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

…apparently about to plunge a knife into the dormant “Earth body” of Alphon while his consciousness is elsewhere.<\/p>\n

Nanbu (voice over):<\/em><\/span> Two stars that exist a thousand years apart…<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Nanbu holds his aim steady as images move on the wall behind him. Next we see what looks like a Space Cavalry member invading an art museum, apparently about to torch Van Gogh’s Starry Night<\/em>. <\/p>\n

Nanbu (continued):<\/em><\/span> If we burn the one in the museum, what will happen to the painting here?<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

A shock cannon burst fires downward from the upper atmosphere of Earth, followed quickly by Asuka<\/em> in a dive-bombing attack.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

We cut to Captain Seiya Kitano at the helm, and then return to Kodai in his Cosmo Tiger.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Alphon takes aim at Kodai, evidently prepared to take a killing shot.<\/p>\n

Alphon:<\/em><\/span> Are you sure, Yuki? If you don’t do it…<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

A second Cosmo Tiger climbs upward to intercept the shot. If the editing is in context, this would appear to be Ageha’s fighter.<\/p>\n

Kodai (voice over):<\/em><\/span> Ageha!!<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Returning to the cloud environment, Yamato<\/em> fires its rocket anchor toward an offscreen target.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

There’s a quick insert of Domon (possibly guiding the anchor), then we see it strike the Grodez<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Domon (voice over):<\/em><\/span> I believe in your intuition.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Yamato<\/em>‘s guidance rockets fire and the chain goes taut as Yamanami barks an order.<\/p>\n

Yamanami:<\/em><\/span> Pull it up!<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n
