Path to the Future<\/em><\/h3>\n

Announced November 2, 2022<\/em><\/p>\n

Path to the Future<\/em> debuted on Japan’s G123 platform in 2023. It was the first to incorporate elements from Yamato 2205<\/em> with access to over 200 characters and battleships. The announcement was accompanied by a promo video<\/a> and a Twitter page<\/a> with some gorgeous new art, which can be seen in a gallery here<\/a>.<\/p>\n

To keep things lively throughout the month, beautifully-made character vignettes with minimal animation were posted every day on the Twitter page. See them all here:<\/p>\n

Astrokings<\/em> collaboration<\/h3>\n

This game paired Yamato 2205<\/em> with a mobile SF space battle game called Astrokings<\/em>. Friend-of-the-website Warren Swanson investigated and brought us the data…<\/p>\n

On April 18th, AN Games, developers of Astrokings<\/em> announced a collaboration with Yamato 2205<\/em> and hosted a preliminary event where you could submit suggestions for how Yamato<\/em> itself plays in the game.<\/p>\n

\u201cTo our respected commanders, we are pleased to announce that the collaboration you have eagerly anticipated has arrived in the Astrokings<\/em> universe! Embark on a journey to the Astrokings<\/em> galaxy with the heroes of Space Battleship Yamato 2205, The New Voyage<\/em>, riding the legendary flagship Yamato<\/em> of the 65th Escort Squadron. Lead your victory in the fierce battle against the mighty Dezarium! The flagship and heroes of this brand-new collaboration are ready for deployment. We have made every effort to provide a variety of content to meet your expectations and interest.\u201d<\/p>\n

The preliminary event closed on April 29th and the full collaboration began on May 3rd. It features a special story campaign, Yamato<\/em> as a buildable flagship, and some characters as obtainable heroes and profile portraits.<\/p>\n

Astrokings<\/em> is a Sci-Fi strategy game that allows you to develop planets and form interplanetary relations with both player and nonplayer characters, and explore the universe by using warp gates. In the context of the game, the whole of Defense Fleet 65 appears after a temporal shift, but they\u2019re not alone since Dezarium followed close behind. You must team up with Kodai and the crew to fight off the Dezarium forces and send them back to their dimension. <\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

(The game also implies that this actually happened during the events of 2205<\/em>. When you finish the story event, Kodai and the gang all have their memories wiped upon leaving the Astrokings<\/em> dimension!)<\/p>\n

Voyagers of Tomorrow<\/em><\/h3>\n

June 22, 2023<\/em><\/p>\n

Finally answering the cries of fans around the world, the Path to the Future<\/em> game was released in English under the name Voyagers of Tomorrow<\/em>. It’s a browser game rather than a download, so odds are you can access it from the very same screen you’re reading right now!<\/p>\n

The first 2205<\/em> apparel was announced at the Yamato Crew online store, to ship out in early October. This started with the green and white jersey, previously modeled at the advance screening. (Order page here<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

Klipsch wireless earphones<\/h3>\n

June 23, 2023<\/em><\/p>\n

Just what you’ve been begging for: twin wireless earphones with Yamato 2205<\/em> branding on the box and charging case (EF CF stands for Earth Federation Cosmo Fleet). Manufactured by Klipsch and sold through a distributor named Onkyo, they promised unprecedented fidelity and wireless functionality.<\/p>\n

They came in a metal case that doubles as a recharger. Oddly, the “preview model” has a typo on it, but ENCF was corrected to EFCF on the finished product.<\/p>\n
