The reference to “wave glass” at line 73 describes an effect that was applied to this underwater shot when it was filmed. A warped sheet of glass was moved across a cell one frame at a time to distort the image as if the camera was submerged. Another term for it is “ripple glass.” The odd thing is that no “wave glass” was used in the shot being described here.<\/p>\n

At line 316, we see the term “Gondola TB.” That refers to a specific type of animation technique where a foreground subject animates in place while the background pulls away, giving the illusion of movement (the camera tracking with the subject).<\/p>\n

This was always difficult to shoot in the pre-digital era, so it was done sparingly. The “gondola” was an attachment to the animation stand that allowed the background art to be moved toward or away from the lens in order to avoid a time-consuming double-exposure. The only drawback with this technique was that the background could not be in focus.<\/p>\n

Nox’s line at 356 was not in the finished episode. Instead, he grunts something unintelligible: “A…ba…”<\/p>\n

The scene between Zordar, Invidia, and the others was significantly rewritten. In the original, he abandons them to their fate and closes the hatch in their stunned faces.<\/p>\n

Do you notice which infamous line is missing<\/em> from this page? “Nox got out just behind you.” When you listen carefully to the recording, the tonality of that line is just different enough from the preceding line to indicate that it was recorded in a different session. AND we don’t see Dash’s face when we hear him speak. This bolsters the theory that it was a late-stage insertion. (Probably when someone lost their nerve.)<\/p>\n

“The mammoth battleship makes Argo look like a midget or a dwarf.” That’s a curious word choice. Someone apparently felt it was necessary to offer a couple options there.<\/p>\n
