{"id":28629,"date":"2020-07-20T10:41:06","date_gmt":"2020-07-20T17:41:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ourstarblazers.com\/vault\/?p=28629"},"modified":"2022-09-12T12:44:57","modified_gmt":"2022-09-12T19:44:57","slug":"483a","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ourstarblazers.com\/vault\/483a\/","title":{"rendered":"Gamilas classic model catalog"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-880 alt=\"2008icon\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ourstarblazers.com\/vault\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008icon.JPG\" width=\"216\" height=\"90\" \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"cosmo-teaser\">Presented here is a comprehensive collection of all the Gamilas mecha that has been released in 3-D form from a host of different companies, mainstream plamo and DIY garage kits alike.<\/p>\n<div style=\"clear: both;\"><\/div>\n<p><!--more--><!--noteaser--><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"image-left\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ourstarblazers.com\/vault-images\/aug20\/483a01.JPG\" border=\"0\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p>One of the major attractions of the original 1974 <em>Yamato<\/em> series was the ever-expanding variety of mecha on the Gamilas side, starting from the beginning of Episode 1 where the first on-screen ships we saw were the haunting destroyers and their sinister \u201cdeep-sea-fish-eyeballs.\u201d After that the fleet grew ever larger and more interesting.<\/p>\n<p>Surprisingly few Gamilas ships were rendered as model kits during the original production years, since plastic model fever didn\u2019t quite catch on until <em>Farewell to Yamato<\/em> arrived in 1978. But over subsequent years fans gained the ability to create and reproduce their own garage kits and took it upon themselves to correct this oversight.
