Laboratory Aquarius<\/em> uses a TAG (Tug Around Galaxy) system, a large ship connected by gravity anchor to smaller C-class ships which enables spatial dislocation [warping] without using the main ship\u2019s power reactor. This method was used later in the Mars absolute defense line and is said to have had large military gains.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

In the year 2199, space battleship BBY01 succeeded in not only restoring an environment that had been destroyed by hostile life forms, it also discovered the existence of Akerius, the so-called founder civilization of the human life form. In addition, there was a warning from another planet that the Wave-Motion Gun was an ultimate weapon that posed the threat of destroying space itself. By galactic analysis, it was confirmed that the energy effect of this singularity was limited to a diameter of 1000m without decay even after destroying an enemy weapon. <\/p>\n

Traces were also confirmed of an advanced civilization engaging in heavy use of the Wave-Motion Gun during its period in circulation. All traces of their Wave-Motion Guns were directed toward the center of the galaxy, where they were absorbed.<\/p>\n

To investigate the effects of Wave-Gun energy on the center of the galaxy, Earth\u2019s ministry of science and technology completed the Earth Federation\u2019s BBY02 Musashi<\/em> for long term space exploration. AAA-07 Aquarius<\/em>, which was in the final stage of construction at the same time, transferred its flag to AAA-08, and it was decided that Laboratory Aquarius<\/em> would take on long-term exploration of the Akerius civilization.<\/p>\n

On December 24, 2202, BBY-01 caused turmoil by rebelling and escaping Earth, but Laboratory Aquarius<\/em> was engaged in an escort mission of surviving ships, so the rebel vessel was entrusted to the Yamanami fleet, which was on exercise maneuvers at the Jupiter Lagrange point. From this it can be inferred that the duties of Musashi<\/em> and Laboratory Aquarius<\/em> were higher priorities.<\/p>\n

Indeed, the two ships that traveled in separate directions to conduct their exploration met a few years later in the center of the Milky Way. For several more years, Laboratory Aquarius<\/em> reported the discovery of other planets and a crisis of collision with other galaxies, which was the source of the Akerius civilization. BBY02 made an important report on the black hole at the center of the galaxy in 2220.<\/p>\n

Laboratory Aquarius<\/em>, which continued exploration afterward, was tossed around by fickle fate and later came to call itself the 2nd generation Yamato.<\/em><\/p>\n
