This is actually the second of its kind; the first was released in March 2008 from Bandai&#8217;s online Lalabit Market along with a bottle of &#8220;Dessler wine.&#8221; <a href='https:\/\/www.ourstarblazers.com\/vault\/315'>See it here<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>Another product released in October (shown above right) was a re-issue of Bandai&#8217;s acclaimed 17&#8243; Soul of Popynica <em>Yamato<\/em> with lights, sound, and internal parts. See more information about it <a href='https:\/\/www.ourstarblazers.com\/vault\/198'>here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ourstarblazers.com\/vault-images\/feb10\/42102.JPG\" border=0 \/><\/p>\n<h3>November 19: Pachinko tapestries<\/h3>\n<p>The <em>Yamato 2<\/em> pachinko game had run its course in first-run Japanese casinos by this time, but one more related product appeared in November. The Maitan company released a pair of gigantic tapestries featuring the game&#8217;s two signature images.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ourstarblazers.com\/vault-images\/feb10\/42103.JPG\" border=0 \/><\/p>\n<h3>November 20: 1\/350 <em>Yamato<\/em> reissue<\/h3>\n<p>With <em>Yamato Resurrection<\/em>&#8216;s premiere now less than a month away, Bandai reissued another of its most noteworthy model kits, the giant 1\/350 scale <em>Yamato<\/em>. This time it was molded in silver-coated plastic to represent the &#8220;Reflector Shield&#8221; effect from the finale of the first TV Series. His 1974 adaptation of the first TV Series was divided into two volumes which were published in November and December. A two-volume reissue of <em>Farewell to Yamato<\/em> followed soon after, and the entire series will continue to be republished throughout 2010. See our review of the Hio manga <a href='https:\/\/www.ourstarblazers.com\/vault\/174'>here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ourstarblazers.com\/vault-images\/feb10\/42105.JPG\" border=0 \/><\/p>\n<h3>November 25: Movie DVDs reissued<\/h3>\n<p>Emotion, the video arm of Bandai, reissued all five <em>Yamato<\/em> movies on DVD at a new lower price and with wide distribution to convenience stores and specialty shops all over Japan. <\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ourstarblazers.com\/vault-images\/feb10\/42106.JPG\" border=0 \/><\/p>\n<h3>November 28: <em>Yamato Mechanic Memorial<\/em><\/h3>\n<p>This new book was full color 52-page retrospective on <em>Yamato<\/em> toys and model kits dating all the way back to 1974. It was released in a limited edition of 13,000 copies by Toho as a tie-in to <em>Yamato Resurrection<\/em> and was sold in theatres and bookstores. It first became available at the November 28 preview screening for the film in Tokyo.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ourstarblazers.com\/vault-images\/sep25\/secretbooks.JPG\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<h3>November 30: <em>The Mysteries of Popular Anime &#038; Manga Nobody Knows<\/em><\/h3>\n<p><em>Core Comics Special No. 183<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Published by <em>Core Magazine<\/em>, this book (at left) is a highly sensationalized compendium of gossip and scandal from the many worlds of pop culture, told in a combination of text and manga. A chapter devoted to <em>Yamato<\/em> breezes through the basic politics of the franchise, punctuated by lurid depictions of Yoshinobu Nishizaki&#8217;s business dealings.<\/p>\n<p>An expanded version titled <em>The Secrets You Really Don&#8217;t Know, The Complete Secret Encyclopedia DX<\/em> (above right) was published in 2011.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ourstarblazers.com\/vault-images\/feb10\/42108.JPG\" border=0 \/><\/p>\n<h3>December 5-11: TV specials<\/h3>\n<p>Three TV specials began airing on Japanese television this week and continued appearing throughout the month. They all took the opportunity to re-introduce the saga to new viewers prior to the premiere of <em>Yamato Resurrection<\/em>. <\/p>\n<p>The first special, titled <em>Tracks of Yamato and Us<\/em>, premiered on the Family Theatre network and kicked off a month of rebroadcasts for the entire <em>Yamato<\/em> saga. Marathon reruns of all three TV series and all five movies were shown multiple times. <\/p>\n<p>The second special, <em>Space Battleship Yamato: All the Charm<\/em>, premiered on TBS and migrated to other networks through December 24. <\/p>\n<p>The third special was titled <em>The Age with Yamato<\/em> and appeared exclusively on Japan&#8217;s History Channel.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ourstarblazers.com\/vault-images\/feb10\/42109.JPG\" border=0 \/><\/p>\n<h3>December 11: Anime World Star products<\/h3>\n<p>Anime World Star, a specialty goods store in Japan, frequently makes original licensed products. In the past they&#8217;ve marketed <em>Yamato<\/em> pencil boards by Keisuke Masunaga, character designer of the Playstation games. On December 11 they added &#8220;Choco Pan&#8221; to the list; chocolate bread in a can. They have released other <em>Yamato<\/em> products in the past and continue to do so today. (In fact, another new AWS product is coming right up.)<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ourstarblazers.com\/vault-images\/feb10\/42110.JPG\" border=0 \/><\/p>\n<h3>December 12: <em>Yamato Resurrection<\/em> premieres<\/h3>\n<p><em>Space Battleship Yamato Resurrection Chapter<\/em> opened in Japanese movie theatres. This song is a must-play for any wind orchestra member, and it&#8217;s faithful to the original. It&#8217;s a standard arrangement worthy of being called a classic. Of course, the original key arrangement ensures a sound that everyone can appreciate. Here you could find ukulele arrangements of the <em>Yamato<\/em> theme, <em>Lupin III, Nausicaa, Totoro<\/em>, and 19 more.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ourstarblazers.com\/vault-images\/sep24\/Eurobest2CD.JPG\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<h3>December 16: <em>Eurobest 2<\/em><\/h3>\n<p>&#8220;Eurobeat&#8221; is a generic term for high-velocity dance music, and this is one of many albums to apply the style to anime themes. Read an eyewitness report <a href='https:\/\/www.ourstarblazers.com\/vault\/34'>here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ourstarblazers.com\/vault-images\/feb10\/42112.JPG\" border=0 \/><\/p>\n<h3>December 21: 2010 Memorial Calendar<\/h3>\n<p>The <em>Space Battleship Yamato<\/em> 2010 Memorial Calendar was published on this day by <em>Yamato<\/em> Studio, making it the third <em>Yamato<\/em> calendar of the year (since two <em>Resurrection<\/em> calendars were already available by this time). For what it&#8217;s worth, this beat a record set in 1978 when two <em>Farewell to Yamato<\/em> calendars were published for 1979. Since then, they have also released the first new <em>Yamato<\/em> products of 2010, a set of 7 cleverly designed cel phone straps with charm mascots. See them on AWS&#8217;s <em>Yamato<\/em> product page <a href='http:\/\/www.anime-world-star.com\/ymtpl.htm'>here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ourstarblazers.com\/vault-images\/feb10\/42114.JPG\" border=0 \/><\/p>\n<h3>December: Model kit reissues<\/h3>\n<p>Other December products included another reissue of two classic Bandai kits with new box art: the 1\/700 scale <em>Yamato<\/em> and <em>Andromeda<\/em> models from 1978.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ourstarblazers.com\/vault-images\/feb10\/42115.JPG\" border=0 \/><\/p>\n<h3>December: Poster towel set<\/h3>\n<p>The Roman Temple company of Japan released a set of 6 &#8220;poster towels&#8221; late in December. This is a bit of a misnomer; they&#8217;re printed on a fabric that is much too thin to use as a towel, but they can definitely function as posters. Each measures about 18&#8243; x 24.&#8221; The first four reproduce original movie posters, and the last two are from <em>Yamato Resurrection<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ourstarblazers.com\/vault-images\/sep25\/420Dec26.JPG\" border=0 \/><\/p>\n<h3>December 26: Mochichi key rings<\/h3>\n<p>In conclusion, this date gave us a redux of the most inexplicable products of the year, two key fob versions of the Kodai and Captain Okita Monchichis.
