Spotted at a Mandarake store inside Nakano Broadway Mall: a life-size bust of Blade Runner<\/em>‘s Rick Deckard next to a life-size Batman mask. I had a powerful urge to break some glass and cast Harrison Ford as the Dark Knight.
\n <\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

This was my last sweep of Nakano Broadway before heading home. Anime World Star wasn’t quite open yet, but I did get a shot of the trinkets in their Yamato 2199<\/em> display.
\n <\/p>\n

Left: the happiest sight at Narita Airport – seeing these carts means I no longer have to horse my goddamn luggage around by hand. They even work on escalators! Right: airport sushi. Still way better than the average we can get at home.

Newly-minted movie program books from the Piccadilly theater. Sometimes they are the only print publications you’ll ever find for certain films.
\n <\/p>\n

These hand-fans were available for free at the Piccadilly. They don’t air-condition the screening rooms as well as you’d like them to, so these things are a lifesaver.
\n <\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

First two Captain Harlock<\/em> items found during the trip: CD soundtrack and Concept Art Book<\/em>, both acquired in Akihabara.<\/div>\n

Last but not least, remember the big Yamato 2199<\/em> posters that were published in Japanese newspapers to promote the TV premiere in April? Captain Harlock<\/em> did them one better.
