Just before release! Information on three major anime movies

Yamato takes off for the final time in search of eternal peace!!

Yamato, The Final Chapter is about to be released. With many dramas hidden within, such as the love between Kodai and Yuki and the battle with Dengil, Yamato is heading toward a magnificent finale!!

Kodai and Yuki, the ultimate love that is now united

The love between Susumu Kodai and Yuki Mori bloomed in the first film, Space Battleship Yamato, and gradually grew. “When we first met, you didn’t feel like a stranger to me.” In the first film, Kodai already made such confessions of love.

In the second film, Farewell to Yamato, in which the couple tragically dies just before their wedding, but the film was a hot topic among fans. In response to popular demand, a third installment was made. However, in Be Forever Yamato, the emphasis was on the battles, so there wasn’t much progress in the love story.

And now, in this final chapter, their love burns bright and blossoms! From the moment they first met, they knew they would be united. However, fighting often tore them apart and caused them pain.

In this final chapter, Kodai is hit by cosmic radiation from a Dengil missile and suffers fatal injuries. “No! Kodai-kun, I don’t want you to die!” Yuki screams out loud and tries to follow Kodai to his death. Barely stopped by Sanada, she desperately prays for a miracle to heal Kodai…

With each crisis they overcome, their love grows stronger. One of the highlights of this story is the impressive cooperation between them as they pursue a retreating enemy ship in the Cosmo Zero.

And then, in the touching finale, Captain Okita tells Kodai, “In addition to the battle with the enemy, there remains another kind of battle with love.” And he and Yuki finally become one in body and soul. Let’s send our heartfelt blessings to their love!

RIGHT SIDE:

Explosion! That’s the end of Yamato!!

Shocked by a crushing defeat, Kodai resigns as captain

The year is 2203.

A collision between planets occurs at the distant end of the galaxy, and the interstellar nations in the area are in a state of destruction. Yamato, heading for the rescue, witnesses the planet Dengil become submerged by the water planet Aquarius and disappear into the cosmos.

Before long, a large mobile fleet that escaped from the vanished planet Dengil appears before Yamato. The ship is hit by a Hyper Thermonuclear Missile and suffers heavy damage with the crew falling one after another. Furthermore, Emperor Lugal of Planet Dengil is warping Aquarius forward in an attempt to conquer and colonize Earth! There are 15 days until Aquarius approaches Earth. If things continue as they are, Earth will be submerged!

Yamato barely manages to return to Earth, but many of the crew were killed and Kodai is seriously injured. He survives thanks to surgery, but he takes responsibility for the many deaths in battle, resigns as captain, and leaves Yamato.

Okita returns! Aim for Aquarius

Meanwhile, the Dengil fleet is gradually extending its attack toward Earth! There are only nine days until Aquarius arrives. Kodai decides to board Yamato, which has just finished being repaired, as a soldier.

Juzo Okita is to be resurrected as captain in place of Kodai! Okita once fell ill, but was saved by surgery just before succumbing to brain death. With the resurrected Captain Okita and the prayers of the entire Earth on board, Yamato sets off to stop Aquarius!

After the first battle, Kodai and Yuki fly in the Cosmo Zero in pursuit of the enemy fleet, which immediately begins to retreat. Despite being injured, Kodai finds the main enemy force and protects Yamato from a Hyper Thermonuclear Missile. Yuki fights hard to help Kodai.

Yamato travels ahead to the point where Aquarius will emerge in order to prevent its 15th warp. As Yamato approaches Aquarius, the Queen of Aquarius tells them an unexpected truth.

“Your enemy, the Dengil, are a people who built an ancient civilization on Earth 10,000 years ago…” The Dengil aliens are actually the ancestors of humans! However, their invasion cannot be forgiven.

24 hours left until submersion. Hurry to warp!

Yamato finally discovers the enemy’s main body, the city satellite Uruk, which controls Planet Aquarius. Thanks to the anti-Hyper Thermonuclear beam developed by Sanada, Yamato blocks the enemy’s attack and blows up their control tower.

They succeed in stopping the warps, but on the city satellite there is a second control system in the temple! Aquarius begins its final warp toward Earth. Yamato has only 24 hours left! At that moment, the enemy Uruk temple suddenly explodes! Are they planning to bury Yamato as well?

At that moment, Shima, wounded in the chest, dies. Mourning his death, Yamato musters all its strength and hurries to warp. Will it be able to catch up with Aquarius?

The only way to save Earth is for Yamato to explode. But what about the lives of Kodai, Yuki, and the rest of the crew…!?

LEFT SIDE:

The Final Chapter Important information

• The color of Yuki Mori’s combat uniform has been changed from yellow to white, giving her a younger, cleaner look.

• After a life-and-death battle with Dengil, Daisuke Shima finally dies. With Kodai and Yuki watching, just before he takes his last breath, Shima makes a shocking confession. “Yuki, I loved you, too!” Shima, too has always loved Yuki.

• Dessler has already become an important character in Yamato. This time he mainly appears near the end. He meets Juzo Okita for the first time via the video panel on Yamato. Dessler has sometimes lent his strength to Yamato up until now, but will he be an enemy or an ally this time?

• A young Dengil boy is rescued by Yamato before Dengil is submerged. After receiving treatment and recovering on Earth, he secretly boards Yamato. This boy is actually the son of Grand Emperor Lugal, and the younger brother of Lugal II!

Yamato performs a 360-degree somersault! After the battle with Dengil, Yamato attempts to charge into the enemy Uruk. It spins around sharply to gain momentum. Yamato‘s acrobatic flight is a sight to behold.

• A different type of mecha will appear than before. This is the animal “robot mecha” on the Dengil side. It looks and moves just like a horse.

• In the first battle with Dengil, a Hyper Thermonuclear Missile causes severe damage to Yamato and puts the crew in a state of suspended animation. This fearsome weapon has a 2-stage attack capability. The first explosion punctures Yamato‘s armor, and the second explosion showers it with cosmic radiation. As a result, Kodai, who is wearing a space suit but does not have time to put on a helmet, is forced to hover between life and death.

• In the love scene between the two lovers, Kodai and Yuki become one in body and soul. It lasts for about four minutes at the end of the film. The song playing in the background, Love Supreme by Junko Yagami, expresses Yuki’s feelings.

• The Yamato theme, which became a hit beyond the world of anime, has been newly re-recorded. Of course, the song Space Battleship Yamato ’83 is sung by Isao Sasaki. It plays at the end.

Translator’s note: the bottom section of both pages contains the 10-year history summary that was seen in both Fanroad and High 1st Age with the addition of short story synopses.
