  • Hi all,

Is there someone to contact in the USA about licensing Yamato for a merchandise project? Or do you have to go to Tohokushinsha in Japan? How does one go about getting the proper licensing for this property?

  • Tohokushinsha is the master licensor of Yamato products. There is no one else above them.

  • I've noticed that quite a few high school and college marching bands use the Yamato theme song. How did they manage to license through the source in Japan? Or, is the theme song available through ASCAP or some other licensing agency?

  • Sheet music for the theme has been published many times in Japan for many different instruments. No license is needed. It has even been performed in the US, the most recent being a rendition by the Georgia Philharmonic at Anime Weekend Atlanta 20 on September 28.
